In America they have both, so if one fails the other is used. :/ but what if you could make the choice should our police have tazers or lethal force?

One thing to remember is that TASERS are not always a non-lethal alternative. There have been a number of cases where using a Taser on someone has lead to their death. At the same time when an officer uses his/her firearm that doesn't always lead to the lawbreakers death, even though it's called lethal force. So both tools, Tasers and Firearms have the "Potential" to be lethal but neither are always lethal/non-lethal.

Lethal force. The criminals will always find a way to arm themselves with lethal weapons and I'd sure hate to see our police force armed only with tasers. I feel the same way about firearms. I will defend my right to possess a weapon, not only because it is constitutional, but because criminals will get the guns whether the general public is able to or not. That leaves John Q. Public completely helpless.

Well, I agree wholeheartedly with Fionnualla...Criminals will indeed always have weapons; I've worked in the prison system for 22 years.

I also defend my right to a weapon. As much crime that goes on, the last thing I want to happen is some criminals breaking my door down and there I'm sitting with my 2 kids with NO weapon...Lord have Mercy --> NOT happening!

Folks who carry legal weapons usually have been trained and are properly educated on weapons/guns. I not only have guns, but every type of knife, and a sword collection as well; we are prepared (but mainly collect).
